Danger, First Blog!

Welcome to my first blog. My sympathies to you if you have somehow stumbled on this since I’m not at all sure how to proceed. I will just have to figure it out as I go along.

In a nutshell, I’m a real estate agent for Windermere Real Estate in Friday Harbor, WA in the San Juan Islands. My main focus professionally is here on San Juan Island itself however I do work on other islands and have listed and sold properties on several outer islands, i.e. islands without ferry service. I’ve been working here full time going on four years although I’ve had a house here for nearly ten years.

Before moving up in ’04 I was selling real estate in LA (well the Valley really) after spending most of my working life in the record business. That may seem like a strange transition but in many ways the two businesses are similar and actually LA real estate is now filled with former record business executives. But I digress.

I’m originally from Seattle and as a kid spent my summers on Vashon Island. The San Juans always seemed to have some sort of mystique though so when I was looking for an island house I quickly ended up searching this area. It’s harder to get here but once you do you feel like you’ve gotten away to someplace special. Not to diss Vashon, there’s something to be said for convenience.

Anyway, I’m not sure how this will evolve but if you have any questions about the area, especially regarding real estate, I will do my best to answer them for you. Constructive blogging advice is also encouraged.

I think that’s going to have to do it for a first blog. How’d I do? I have to go feed the pets and run.
